- Pretty, auburn-haired actress Aneta Louise Corsaut was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on November 3, 1933. She majored in drama at Northwestern University and studied acting with Lee Strasberg, considered by some to be the father of method acting in America. Aneta dropped out in her junior year to pursue a career in acting.
Aneta guest-starred in two TV shows during 1955: live program Producers' Showcase (1954) and the Robert Montgomery-hosted drama Robert Montgomery Presents (1950). She didn't make her feature film debut until 1958, when she starred in the cult science fiction favorite The Blob (1958) opposite Steve McQueen.
Aneta's best-known role came about in 1963, when she first appeared on The Andy Griffith Show (1960) as independent and self-sufficient schoolteacher Helen Crump. Aneta stayed on the show until its end in 1968, and reprised her role in the spin-off series Mayberry R.F.D. (1968), the made-for-TV movie Return to Mayberry (1986), and the reunion special Andy Griffith Show Reunion (1993).
Besides her role as the heroine in 'The Blob', Anita Corsaut regrettably didn't appear in many feature films. She had a role in video nasty The Toolbox Murders (1978), as well as uncredited appearances in Good Neighbor Sam (1964), A Rage to Live (1965), and Blazing Saddles (1974). She did, however, appear in many TV shows, including The Blue Knight (1975), Adam-12 (1968), House Calls (1979), Matlock (1986) (starring none other than Andy Griffith!), and General Hospital (1963), as well as guest appearances on a dozen others.
Ms. Corsaut battled cancer in her later years, and sadly died of the disease on November 6, 1995 at the age of 62. She will be remembered as Helen Crump. - Actress

Lucinda was part of the troupe when Solid Gold's third season began, and a short biography on her was included in press materials for the show. However, her stint was very brief -- so brief that most Solid Gold fans may not realize she actually danced on the show. Born and raised in Hutchinson, Kansas, Lucinda began dancing at the age of four and went on to major in dance at Kansas State University for two years. As a college student, Lucinda competed in the Miss Kansas pageant, where she won the talent division and finished third runner-up.
Lucinda then moved to Los Angeles and won a dance scholarship with the Dupree Dance Academy. After 10 months of study at Dupree, she auditioned for the movie Grease 2 (1982) and won a role as one of film's lead dancers. Lucinda also appeared in the movie Ninja III: The Domination (1984), where she played a woman possessed by the evil spirit of a ninja assassin. The movie role she is most famous for, however, is that of Kelly (aka Special K) in the 1984 cult film Breakin' (1984) which also featured Solid Gold dancers Cooley Jackson and Leslie Cook.
Lucinda currently lives in California with her husband, Craig Pilligian (who is co-executive producer of the TV show "Survivor") and their two children, according to a July 2000 Hutchinson News article.- Actress

After working in vaudeville, on the stage and in early movies, Richard Thorpe launched his directing career in 1923. After directing dozens of low-budget comedies and westerns, his talents were recognized in the mid-'30s when he went to work for MGM. Studio chief Louis B. Mayer valued efficiency in his directors, and Thorpe prided himself on bringing a production in under budget--that would be key to his remarkable longevity in Hollywood. He had no particular style, directing mechanically on the premise of keeping the camera rolling until an actor blew a line--or a scene suffered a mechanical malfunction--and then going back and completing it with a close-up or reaction shot. Mechanical or not, his technique worked. Though he never directed any blockbusters, he was solid and dependable, directing hundreds of movies of all genres for over four decades. He retired in 1967.- Additional Crew

After winning a local beauty contest she moved to New York City in 1923 to become an actress. She worked as a dancer and won the title of Miss New York. Mutual Film Company announced she would star in the The Bobbed Hair Bandit but the film was never made. Producer D.W. Griffith cast her in The Sorrow Of Satan and helped her get a contract at Paramount. For a brief time she was engaged to her agent Frank Orsatti.

She hoped that dying her hair blonde would help her career. In 1928 she was offered a contract at Hal Roach's studio. She appeared in several comedy shorts including Two Tars with Laurel and Hardy. Unfortunately Ruby never became a major star. She quit acting at age twenty-five and married Irving Weinberg, a millionaire stockbroker.
